Corporate Social Responsibility

CSR is not just for large Corporates; it is an ethos that all companies can build into their business strategy. If every company adopted CSR strategies and started off with fulfilling one goal at a time, imagine the change we would see? Companies can unite and work together, driving the possibilities for change, leading to a positive impact on society, as well as in business.

The BTS team take our responsibilities very seriously and ensure best practices are adhered to in every aspect of our business, to allow us to incorporate these values into our daily lives and not just tick a box. We are heavily involved in helping our communities, both at home and across the workplace; supporting the wellbeing of people we come into contact with, and ensuring, where possible, we support local businesses and give back to the local communities.

One of our main values is to ‘make a difference’ and the BTS family realise and appreciate the need to look after our neighbouring communities and where possible give back to both local and national charities. We try to embrace and look after charities that have been close to our own hearts and this is why we have chosen to support different entities each year rather than just focus on one.

In 2020 we supported the Alzheimer’s charity and more locally, Genesis Care, a North West based charity that provides a well-being and respite care service for older people. We raised money for them by getting involved with an Elf Day that was such an amazing amount of fun and we were also able to raise some awareness on their behalf.

In the first half of 2021, we are looking to support Springhill Hospice in Rochdale, Greater Manchester who is a purpose-built facility offering specialist palliative care to patients and families from diagnosis to end-of-life. We will be looking to get involved in some socially distanced fundraisers and hope to raise some money for an amazing cause.

In the second half of 2021 we will be supporting The Society of Abandoned Animals in Sale, Greater Manchester. They care for and re-home unwanted animals and ensure that a healthy animal is never put down. Our plan is not only to fundraise for them but to also spend some time with their team assisting where we can and spending some time with the animals.

Community and Social Development

We support schools in the local area, one Director is a Careers Enterprise Advisor, and as a team, we all support the various career curriculum activities where we can, ensuring the next generation leave education more work-ready than ever before.

We are all engaged in various local community groups in our own time from Village Green initiatives to European Twin Town exchanges.  Pre-lockdown we were involved in litter picking events and fostering rescue animals, and we currently still take an active role in looking after our greenbelt areas within the North West.

Carbon footprint and Environmentally friendly operations

The BTS team recognises and understands the importance of protecting the environment in which we operate. We are fully committed to minimising the impact that running our business has on the environment, and we encourage our clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to do the same. We have already pledged that we will minimise unnecessary air pollution by using local meeting areas and not travelling in core/rush hours. We will also take full advantage of the use of technology to minimise the use of wasting paper on unnecessary printing and utilise secure cloud storage to alleviate this, where possible.
