Hybrid role with both office and home working


Based across the Northwest, our client is an award-winning, large independent practice that is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to become part of their tax team in Lancashire. Working as part of a large team, this firm can offer an exciting and varied role to an enthusiastic and ambitious tax professional.


Working as part of the tax team and reporting to the Tax Assistant Manager you will be expected to provide an excellent tax compliance and planning service to a large range of corporate clients and business owners across Lancashire and the surrounding areas.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing corporation tax computations and provisions for accounts including tax notes and reconciliations.
  • Managing the corporation tax compliance process and ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Communicating with clients on their corporation tax affairs.
  • Ensuring that all client enquiries and requests are dealt with promptly and effectively referring to other team members where appropriate and ensuring that client expectations are effectively managed.
  • Actively looking for tax planning opportunities within the corporation tax portfolio.
  • Working to budget and managing WIP in a timely fashion, referring to other departments and portfolio holders when needed and raising bills as required.
  • Undertaking tax advisory assignments and projects independently and working with managers and partners.
  • Being involved in personal tax, business tax and capital gains tax when needed.


The ideal applicant will already be working within public practice either in accounts preparation or tax and will be studying or looking to start studying for an accountancy or tax qualification. Excellent communication skills and organisation skills are essential along with the desire to achieve your professional qualification.
