French Speaking Cost Accountant – Manchester

Based in Manchester, our client is a large international manufacturing business that is seeking a strong, dedicated individual, with fluency in both French and English, to become part of their Global Accounts Team as a Cost Accountant.

 THE JOB:

Reporting to the Head of Record to Report, you will be primarily responsible for the review and analysis of manufacturing costs. Developing accurate product and standard costs and the reconciliation of all manufacturing and inventory accounts. The role reports to the Head of Record to Report and works closely with local plant personnel and plant controllers.
 

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the month-end plant closing process 
• Review and reconciliation of goods in transit and GRIR accounts
• Preparation of periodic manufacturing reports, financial analysis, and commentary
• Liaison with internal and external auditors on general cost accounting matters
• Reconciliation and review of inventory and manufacturing-related accounts
• Preparation and posting of accounting journal entries relating to plant accruals and inventory provisions
• Assist with other projects and other corporate initiatives.

THE PERSON:

• Fluent in French and English, able to work and communicate across a Pan European environment
• Ideally, you will be a qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA (but relevant experience is equally valuable)  
• You must have strong communication skills and have the ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally with other departments internationally.  
• You will have a minimum of 5 years general ledger accounting experience, preferably from a large international manufacturing environment.
• The ability to plan, prioritise and organise your own workload is crucial, whilst also being able to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
• A high working level of Excel and knowledge of SAP is essential for the role
