Purchase Ledger Manager – Sale, Manchester - Hourly rate paying between £18 - £20 per hour + 25 days holiday.

Based in Sale, Manchester, our client is seeking an individual to join their business on a temporary basis (approximately 3 - 6 months) as a Purchase Ledger Manager. 

THE JOB:

Working within the Finance team this role is for someone that has strong knowledge of Purchase Ledger and someone who would be available for an immediate start. The role will be office-based and the hours are 08.30am - 4.30pm.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Actively clean the purchase ledger so that the debt accurately and efficiently reflects the total supplier liability position
  • Weekly report on progress to the Senior Management Team
  • Assist with creating processes and controls as part of a wider Group policy, streamlining the purchase ledger function
  • Review all supplier accounts, with a top 10 focus through supplier statement reconciliations and cash allocation
  • Review the ageing of the creditors listing for bad debt, queries and write offs with consideration of the VAT treatment
  • Investigate and resolve the debit balances within the creditors for missing invoices
  • Create/update a summary template with key analysis for weekly reporting to the Senior Management Team, showing the weekly movements in the aged buckets
  • Review all Purchase Ledger processes, including month end close processes such as accruals; create a best practice manual for application across the Group Finance Department

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as either a Purchase Ledger Team Leader or Manager within a Finance function. A strong understanding of Purchase ledger is required and first-hand experience of supporting project rollouts would be advantageous. Our client is looking for someone with strong communication skills and someone that has existing knowledge of Purchase ledger processes and has experience of implementing ideas and systems. Advanced knowledge of the full Microsoft suite is essential.
