Temporary Purchasing Administrator – North Manchester 

Based in North Manchester, our client is an established engineering firm that offers a great working environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Administrator to join and support a highly successful business to ensure that the highest standards of supply, cost, and quality are maintained at all times. This job will be office-based initially Mon-Fri however a hybrid mix of both home and office working will be considered for the right applicant after the completion of training.

THE JOB:

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the department through the provision of an effective administrative service
  • Complete various orders for manufactured parts and equipment
  • Maintain purchasing progress by effectively communicating locally and internationally 
  • Creating orders and comparing prices
  • Dealing with any order-related issues
  • Offer a full admin support function to the Purchasing department
  • Following through with vendors on shipments and deliveries
  • Maintaining records
  • Follow up files of purchases, shipments and any matters relating to those files
  • Ensure orders are delivered on time by liaising with local and international suppliers

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate will have practical purchasing experience but this is not essential. Previous experience of working in a manufacturing or engineering business would be preferred. You will be expected to support multiple projects through to their successful completion therefore you must be a robust character that is highly organised and has the ability to confidently problem solve. You will need to be reactive to change and have a flexible approach to all that you do. Strong Microsoft Office skills are required.
